This October will be all about the underdog. In honor of adopt a shelter dog month, I’ll be showing a collection of portraits of rescue dogs. This special exhibit will feature dogs that have been homeless for more than one year.
It’s no secret that animal rescues work tirelessly to save dogs from dying in kill shelters. But, few people realize how much time and money it takes to find a new home for a rescue dog. A dog can stay with a rescue months and even years, costing $500 and up each month to board and feed the animal. The sooner a rescue can move a dog into a loving home, the better.
Despite the best efforts of rescues, some great pets wait a long time before finding a match. These are attractive, well mannered pets with delightful personalities. My Underdog Photo Exhibit will showcase dogs that have waited far too long for a good home.
If you know a homeless dog in Los Angeles that’s waited more than a year to be adopted, send me an email with more details.
